Jan Wiecha, PhD Student

I am a psychologist, sexologist, diagnostician, and a cognitive-behavioral therapist in training. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from the Institute of Psychology at the Jagiellonian University, where I also work as an academic lecturer. I completed my doctoral research at the Doctoral School in the Social Sciences at the Jagiellonian University and am currently awaiting the defense of my dissertation.

My academic and clinical interests focus on the psychology of close romantic relationships, sexology, psychotherapy, and both applied and theoretical behavior analysis. Supervised by Prof. Śmieja, my doctoral work examined the role of the emotion of being moved (kama muta) in close romantic relationships, with a particular emphasis on intimacy, closeness, and relationship satisfaction.

I am a member of the Polish Dachshund Club, affiliated with the Polish Kennel Club (ZKwP, FCI), as well as the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (PACBT / PTTPB) named after Prof. Zdzisław Bizon).

Cinephile, Neapolitan pizza enthusiast, and an admirer of functional design—particularly porcelain and glass.
