We Are a Close
Relationships Lab Scientists

We are a team of researchers fascinated by how people create, maintain, and sometimes end their close relationships. Our work explores emotions that foster intimacy, such as being moved, as well as those that may indicate a partner is losing their appeal, such as disgust. We aim to understand how expectations placed on a partner influence relationship satisfaction.

We study contemporary ideologies, including the blackpill and redpill movements, to uncover their links to the growing loneliness among young men. Our research also examines factors that amplify or reduce sexual desire discrepancies between partners. To answer these intriguing research questions, we employ a variety of methods, including surveys, experiments, and longitudinal studies.
